Two years. 330,000+ connections. Infinite impact.

211 Metro Chicago celebrated its second anniversary on National 211 Day, bringing together the partners who made it possible – including Cook County and the City of Chicago.

Operated by United Way of Metro Chicago, the 24/7 helpline has made hundreds of thousands of referrals to essential health and social service resources such as housing, food, and utility payment assistance.

2-1-1 is helping connect people with what they need most – and making a big impact. Thank you for being a part of this critical work together.

SHERIEE LEE

“Food consistently ranks among the top needs identified from 2-1-1 inquiries. This highlights the vital role 2-1-1 plays in connecting neighbors to food support and in linking them to the Food Depository’s network of partners.”
KELSIE KLINER
Director of Planning and Process Improvement, Greater Chicago Food Depository

“People call me every day asking for help. It is so important to be present for them, to be calm, compassionate, and say, ‘I hear you.’ When I share a resource, I have helped open the door for them to get what they need most in that moment. This is why 2-1-1 is so important. It is truly making a difference in people’s lives.”
BRIAN LEWIS
Resource Navigator, 211 Metro Chicago

“The suburban safety net can be particularly challenging to navigate. I’m grateful for the 2-1-1 team’s comprehensive approach to connecting people to the social services they are seeking. Having one place to call makes all the difference for our community!”
